Background

Played between 22^nd August and 27^th September, the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup was held in England and made history as the most watched, most inclusive and most empowering tournament ever staged.

The 5 week event celebrated women’s rugby at its finest – showcasing world-class players, redefining the sport and welcoming new fans from around the world. It exceeded all expectations, bringing joy, unity and pride that will be remembered for years to come.

Brief

EFM Global successfully bid and won the tender to be the freight and logistics service provider including:

• Movement of 16 teams international freight shipments
• Planning, execution and tracking of domestic truck movements between match venues, team base hotels and training venues
• Warehousing
• Logistics crew at match venues
• Plant and MHE hire

Delivery

EFM planned and delivered the complete logistics solution for RWC25.  More than 350 shipments, (from a bag of match balls to a fully loaded 45ft trailer) and16 international teams moving globally to/from England.

Result

The most successful women’s rugby tournament EVER was only possible thanks to the collaboration and contributions of many individuals and organisations who came together.  The EFM team were fully integrated with the Local Organising Committee to become an extension of RWC’s team.  Knowing that EFM and the wider team went above and beyond on a number of occasions to support operations and change requests.  EFM’s team enjoyed being part of what was achieved and were part of a generational moment for women’s rugby and helping to set a new benchmark for future tournaments.
